How do potential offenders think and act?
In an Interview with SRF – Schweizer Radio und Fernsehe, Matthias Holenstein spoke about the three-year research project «Ready – Read the Enemy», which we carried out in collaboration with the Zurich Cantonal Police and the Stiftung Risiko-Dialog. The focus: security measures at Zurich Airport AG – analysed from the perspective of the offenders.
How do they plan? How do they prepare? And which measures are most likely to deter them? Using simulations, behavioural analyses and role-plays, the security system in the public area was specifically tested and evaluated “from the perpetrator’s perspective”.
The conclusion: the interaction between people and technology remains crucial for effective joint prevention.
