Project partner: IU Internationale Hochschule
In this project, HF Partners acted as a subcontractor to IU Internationale Hochschule. We planned, managed, and analysed an online experiment examining the effect of (1) risk comparisons and (2) hazard- vs. risk-based communication on individual’s perceptions of radon and electromagnetic fields. In the online experiment the risk of radon exposure was compared to the risk of passive smoking, and the risk of being exposed to electromagnetic fields was compared to the effort of getting up from a chair. After presenting the participants with these risk comparisons, their health risk perceptions were assessed.
The project was funded by the German Federal Office for Radiation Protection.
